WHY WOMEN?
Because women tend to support each other in their communities. Frequently women have more time to dedicate to an additional activity. Many times women peasants do not have access to any kind of income, so our project may be more atractive to them as a supplement activity. Woment create networks with other women. Females are themselves or have strong connections to mothers and children. In many cases this fosters a concern for nature and "Mother Earth".

CAN MEN PARTICIPATE TOO?
Yes! Men can both participate in sponsorship as well as in the actual projects in the ground. The reason we focus on women is because we were funded by women and we had experience working with them. This does not exclude men or anyone else from joining our plight.

HOW CAN I HELP?
For now you can go to www.calakmul.org and donate specificaly to the WPT project. You can be proud of the fact that 100% of your donation will go directly to sponsor the nurserys and the people planting and caring for the trees.
